About this deal

Meaning, under certain conditions you can hear left channel audio over the right channel speakers and vice versa. This happens at louder volumes in every use case as some have reported. But even more so when paired with an amplifier that sums the left and right channel for LFE sub out use. Such is the case for users who pair the unit with a Fosi M-03 or an Aiyima A3001 sub amp to power passive subs or control active subs. With the LM4580 the A07 sounds balanced, with a somewhat lighter bass presentation, but very neutral overall--a cheap and pleasant surprise. However, one must consider this undertaking and take it seriously. Requiring the proper tools, skill and environment to safely modify the case so it doesn't look ridiculously hideous and doesn't cause health concerns from the aluminum waste that will be produced. Why? Because of my improvements to the thermal interface. Without the Sparkos, the voltage regulators won't even get warm.. He "ignored" the information and its given context altogether and then attempted to advise me from a position of "ignorance" (not to be mistaken for stupidity)His response though is invalid because he chose to be uniformed. See the difference?

In my listening space the Aiyima will play at levels that are truly painful, and that's with the volume knob set at about 50%. From the ASR review I know that there is a known issue with the amp (or power supply) shutting down at around 77 watts. Even at the 77W output level the measured distortion (ASR review) is quite low. Because I'm not experiencing the shutdown, I am confident that at the 50% volume knob setting, the amp is not even driving 77W... A more capable power supply is supposed to get this amp to higher power outputs without shutting down. The Aiyima published THD+N results for A07 MAX are slightly behind the V3 (0.003% for the V3 and 0.007% for the MAX) this translates into SINAD values of -90 for the V3 and -83 for the MAX. Note: these measurements have not been independently confirmed yet but they are inline with the expectation based on previous results. The Fosi Audio BT20A Pro (review here) features the same TPA3255 amplifier chip as the A07 but sounds distinctly different. In addition, the BT20A Pro has a 3.5mm variable level Pre Out whereas the A07 Pro has a fixed-level Line Out.

The Magnepan LRS's are not the most efficient speakers, at roughly 83dB @ 1W. Their impedance is just about board-flat, and right at 4 Ohms. The Aiyima A07 is very comfortable with 4 Ohm loads, where many other amps simply are not capable of handling impedances that low. Such spectrum would make the measuring audio system crazy, so during all measurements in audio band a differential R-C-R lowpass filter is used with -3dB corner at 40kHz. Wideband measurements (with the digital scope) were made without the filter. A brief history of TPA3255 amplifiersThe Aiyima A07 was the first "cheap" class D amplifier recognised by the audio community as "audiophile" quality yet at a nice price for those starting off in the hobby of home audio. It provided clean / neutral sound without the noise / "tinny" sound of previous class D amplifiers in the equivalent price range. It was praised by subjective "YouTube" audio reviewers like the CheapAudioMan yet also highly praised by objective reviewers from AudioScienceReview and others for its excellent SINAD / THD+N values (meaning it provided clean audio without distortion at high levels of output with a neutral accross bass, midrange and treble). There were other competitors in this market but Aiyima iterated over the design of the A07 with the A08 and a number of other class D amplifiers adding more features like bluetooth / tone controls etc to the basic TPA3255 design. Great post! & great pics! Pop a temp gauge on your voltage regulators and see what they read. The community, I'm sure will benefit from and appreciate it. The temps of the regulators is the most important thing to observe. Because of what op-amps do... Those can heat up to much and fail. That's why I'm not going to be able to recommend the SparkosLabs for the A07 pro. Love this... Thank you. To note for the community, the Fosi V3 also copied over the A07's original design flaws... Users including myself have reported that the unit has channel cross-feed.

Bluetooth: Version 5.2 Bluetooth support: 16-24bit 44.1-48khz Supported format: sbc/aac/aptx/aptx-hd

Also... It is important to note that it literally makes no sense what the Aiyima rep said about these op-amp positions. We don't know if it's load independent or not. Maybe we just see 4 Ohm load, and not 8 Ohm with 20 KHz bandwidth. We get almost similar result with Fosi V3 if we ignore 8 Ohm plot.
