About this deal

This smart WiFi telescope features a tripod that offers an accessory tray that is designed to keep your eyepieces or your smartphone safe and nearby. The tripod is completely collapsible to ensure that you can easily store it anywhere you want. SEE ALSO: Best Screen Protector for Tablet Under 20 Dollars in Review 2018 2. Testing the StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ's mettle on fainter deep-sky targets, we slewed to the Andromeda Galaxy (Messier 31) and the Triangulum Galaxy (Messier 33). We weren't disappointed with the views; they were clear, and contrasty and demonstrated the reflector's ability to collect enough light for bright observations. Surely," you think, "it'd be easy enough to hold my phone's camera lens up to the eyepiece and capture an image".The best thing about this smart telescope is that it is a hybrid between a telescope and an observation station. That means that you can enjoy the best features that both an observing station and a telescope has to offer in one device. As with most astronomical pursuits, your skills will improve with practice. Don’t be disappointed if your first images don’t match those you see online. Experiment with different eyepieces, filters, and software and understand that the image quality is only partially in your hands. Your success will also depend on the degree of atmospheric turbulence or “seeing” at the time you’re taking your images. The same techniques might produce dramatically better (or worse!) results from one night to the next. Shooting Deep Sky Objects

The eVscope eQuinox is not perfect, but compared to your average small reflector telescope the views this smart telescope affords of deep-sky objects are astounding. With resolution increasing via firmware updates, the already very clever algorithms inside the eVscope eQuinox’s onboard computer will only get better. It may not be the finest smart telescope around, but if you can get a good second-hand price (Unistellar no longer sells this model) then it’s worth considering because it still offers incredible images of faint galaxies, nebulae and star clusters despite light pollution. Since it’s a reflector telescope it will occasionally need collimating (see below).Read our full Unistellar eVscope review. What is collimating? We were able to capture a range of targets including the Moon and deep-sky objects using the NightCap app, and we were very impressed. You can then use the Unistellar app to engage the ‘Automatic Field Detection’ mode to calibrate its database. Looking for the best telescope camera mount? Astronomical telescopes may be designed primarily for naked-eye viewing, so while all the telescopes in our list can be used for astrophotography too, you will usually need an adaptor to mount a camera on the telescope. Here are a couple of links to help:

Emarket 8x Clip Telescope Camera Lens The Sky-Watcher Skymax-127 Virtuoso GTi has an added benefit: itsWi-Fi-controllable Go-To mount offers to make the night sky available at the touch of an on-screen button.Smartphone astrophotography gadgets are great, but for more high-end imaging equipment, find out which are the best cameras for astrophotography. One of the simplest but probably most effective of all smartphone astronomy gadgets is a smartphone tripod. The Celestron NexStar 5SE is quite portable, and since it's comprised of three different components – the optical tube, mount, and steel tripod – assembly takes no more than about 10 minutes.
